Leadership

Christopher C. Harris | President

Christopher Harris spent his entire professional career at AMC, joining the company after graduating from Florida State University. His dedication, experience, and relationships are both a legacy of its founders and his vision for the company’s future.

Chris leads AMC in a way that results in 98% of its business coming from existing clients and direct referrals. He has built a team with diverse experience, methodical preconstruction planning, and exceptional professionalism that is evident in AMC’s professional dealings and interpersonal relationships.

A fourth-generation Floridian, Chris believes reputation in the community is paramount, and his commitment is both professional and personal, characterized by an unprecedented level of service, and the assurance that every project, of every size, earns the full attention of AMC’s team.

Heather Marshall | Vice President of Operations

Heather Marshall joined AMC in 1996 and has enjoyed the opportunity to experience many roles within the company, finding both a career and true home. She is responsible for ensuring company policies and procedures are followed and efficiently implemented throughout the company, facilitating operations between each department.

Heather earned her degree in Education at Florida Atlantic University; yet once she landed in the construction business, she never looked back. She finds watching projects come to life extremely rewarding.

Ed Preti | Vice President of Construction

Ed Preti rejoined AMC in 2019 and he has over 30 years of construction experience as a general contractor. Ed started at AMC as a Project Manager in 1995 and worked for 10 years, then started his own business as Preti Construction, Inc. His reputation in the South Florida Market for those 15 years was equally trusted and highly successful.

Ed’s role as VP of Construction is to oversee all projects and work with the Project Managers, Superintendents, Architects, and Owners – ensuring that every project is delivered with the quality, professionalism, integrity, and timeliness that is expected of AMC. Ed was born and raised in Palm Beach County and is a graduate of the University of Florida.

Jason Barbieri | Vice President of Preconstruction

Jason Barbieri has been with the AMC team since 2013. With over three decades of construction experience with a focus on Preconstruction, Jason is responsible for helping clients navigate their projects from an initial concept to construction ready. This includes the oversight of assembling initial budgets, final pricing, scheduling, permitting, or working with design professionals to ensure a project is developed and designed to meet our clients’ expectations and budget parameters.

Awais Abdul Khaliq | Chief Financial Officer

As Chief Financial Officer, Awais Abdul Khaliq is responsible for all of AMC’s financial functions, including accounting, audit, treasury, corporate finance, and investor relations. He also oversees and manages all human resources and facilities activities.

Prior to joining AMC in 2022, he had over 15 years of varied experience in the construction industry throughout the world and in the U.S., from financial management to corporate strategy. Awais holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from the University of the Punjab.

Rachel Roy | Human Resources Manager

Rachel Roy joined AMC in 2017 as the Payroll Administrator and has since evolved to the Human Resources Manager.  Rachel is primarily responsible for payroll, Worker’s Comp, recruiting, insurance benefits, and payroll taxes.  She also likes to say that she is the unofficial company psychologist, event planner, peacemaker, and detective – the more “human” aspects of her role. Rachel finds HR fulfilling and is rewarded knowing that she can help employees reach their full potential, all while improving processes so the company can meet its objectives.

The project team was Glidden Spina as Architect/Designer and Anderson-Moore as General Contractor. Our project was very challenging in that parts of our existing structure go back 80 years and have been added onto over the years. We lacked accurate as-built plans and as we progressed in the demo stage, we continued to discover unique situations that required everyone on the project team to respond quickly with solutions.
